Free vs Priority lane: what $4.99 a month changes

Priority, $4.99 a month, adds Gemma 4 31B, goes ahead of waiting Free requests, writes two replies at once and raises the limit from 60 to 300 requests a minute. What Priority changes
- Queue position: when it is busy, Priority requests go ahead of waiting Free ones. Replies already being written still finish first, so it is not a promise of instant replies at the busiest moments.
- Gemma 4 31B: the larger model, richer for long stories and complex characters.
- Two replies at once instead of one, useful for swipes or two chats side by side.
- 300 requests a minute instead of 60, which matters for apps and extensions more than for a person typing.
When Free is enough
If you play one story at a time, mostly outside peak evening hours, and Gemma 4 12B's voice suits you, Free covers it. Many people never need more. The Free context of about 60,000 tokens is a limited-time boost while the service is small; if that changes, the Pricing page will say so first.
When Priority is worth it
- You keep waiting in line at the times you actually play.
- Your stories are long and layered, and 12B starts flattening them.
- You use the API from SillyTavern or JanitorAI and hit "Too many requests from your account are waiting." because you swipe or run two chats.
A quick test: play your favourite character on 12B for an evening, then compare the same scene on 31B. If you can feel the difference, it is probably worth it to you.
Switching and cancelling
Upgrade from the Account tab. Your API keys pick up the new plan by themselves, so there is nothing to re-paste; just change the model name to gemma-4-31b where you want it. Cancel any time from your account and you go back to Free. Details are on Pricing.

Does Priority give longer memory?
No. Both lanes use the same 61,440-token context on the Gemma models. Priority's gains are speed in the queue, the 31B model and two replies at once.
Do I need Priority to use an API key?
No. Free accounts can make keys and use gemma-4-12b in any compatible app.
Does the price include tax?
Priority is $4.99 a month in US dollars, plus tax where it applies.
Do my saved stories change if I cancel?
No. Your characters and saved stories stay on your account; you simply go back to the Free lane and Gemma 4 12B.
