Use one AI account across SillyTavern, JanitorAI and more
Updated
One UnsavedAI account covers every app you use. Make a separate named key for each one, such as SillyTavern and JanitorAI, so you can revoke one without touching the rest. Your plan, models and limits belong to the account, not the key: every key shares the same reply slots and per-minute allowance, and upgrading updates them all at once.

Keys are just credentials. Make one per app or device and name it after where it lives: SillyTavern laptop, JanitorAI, Open WebUI server. Copy the full key when it is first shown; afterwards it is masked. If a key leaks, or you stop using an app, revoke that one key and nothing else breaks.
Replacing a key safely is three steps: make the new one, paste it into the app and send a test message, then revoke the old one. The API keys guide covers this in detail.
Limits belong to the account
More keys do not mean more capacity. Free writes one reply at a time and Priority two, across all your keys together, with up to four more waiting. If SillyTavern is mid-reply and JanitorAI sends a message, the second one waits its turn. Push past that and you get "Too many requests from your account are waiting. Try again shortly."
The same goes for the per-minute limit of 60 requests, or 300 on Priority. A background extension in one app can use up allowance another app needed; see what to do about 429 errors.
Your plan follows you everywhere
When you upgrade to Priority, every key picks up the new plan by itself. Change the model name to gemma-4-31b in the apps where you want the bigger model and leave the others on gemma-4-12b. The same account also signs you in to chats on UnsavedAI itself.
Who keeps what
- API traffic, from any app, is never stored by UnsavedAI.
- Each app keeps its own history: SillyTavern on your machine, JanitorAI on its servers, Open WebUI on whoever runs it.
- Stories you play on UnsavedAI itself are saved to your account by default, so you can pick them up on any device, or kept Unsaved if you choose that for a story.
So the same character can live in several places at once. Export it as a Character Card V2 file for SillyTavern, or as text for JanitorAI, and play it wherever suits the moment.
A tidy setup
- Phone: chat on UnsavedAI in the browser, added to your home screen.
- Desktop: SillyTavern with its own key, for long campaigns with lorebooks.
- JanitorAI: its own key, for community characters.
- A shared server: its own key, revoked the day you stop sharing it.
Questions people ask
Can I share my key with a friend?
Keys are tied to your account, and every key shares your limits, so their chats would wait in line with yours. They are better off with their own free account.
Is there a limit on how many keys I can make?
Make as many as you need for your own apps. Unused ones are worth revoking so fewer valid keys exist.
Do I need separate accounts for the website and the API?
No. One account covers both, with the same plan.
