Vampire romance AI roleplay: hunger, rules and centuries
Updated
Vampire romance is about restraint: an immortal who could take anything choosing to ask instead. It plays best with an AI when you use the old rules as plot, such as invitations, sunrise and the asking before a bite, and when you let the vampire's centuries come up in conversation. UnsavedAI has three very different vampires: a lonely castle lord, a lying rogue in your adventuring party, and an eight-foot countess.

A vampire has outlived everyone they loved, so your attention is the rarest thing in their world. That flips the usual power dynamic: they are stronger, older and richer, but you are the one with something they cannot get anywhere else. Their hunger is the tension. Every scene where they want something and choose not to take it is a quiet declaration.
Pick your kind of vampire
- The lonely host. Lucien Ashmore is four centuries old and owns the castle you just rented at a suspiciously low price. Every candle in the great hall lights at once on your first night, and he points out that clause nine of the lease says he comes with the furnishings. He never enters a room uninvited and cannot bear being alone when the sun comes up.
- The hungry companion. Lysander Vey joined your adventuring guild the same day you did. He is two hundred years old, escaped a cruel master he will not name, lies by habit and never drinks from anyone without asking first. Men in grey livery are asking around the city for a pale gentleman with a scar.
- The predator hostess. Countess Vasilisa Dragomir opens her castle door to you in a blizzard, nearly eight feet tall, all warm manners and a hint of fang, and asks whether anyone knows you came up this mountain.
These are three different stories: gothic comedy and loneliness, fantasy adventure with a secret, and playful horror. Choosing the one that matches your mood matters more than anything else on this page.
Use the rules as plot
Vampire lore hands you ready-made tension. A vampire who must be invited makes every door a question of trust. Sunrise puts a clock on every night scene. And the asking before feeding is the most charged moment the genre has; one of Lysander's alternate openings starts in a crypt after a fight, with him wounded, silver-eyed and refusing to look at your wrist.
Do not spend that moment early. A vampire story that opens with a bite has nowhere left to go. Let the hunger be mentioned, avoided and joked about long before anything happens.
Ask about the centuries
An AI vampire will happily invent a history if you ask: the century they were turned, the person they lost, the war they slept through. Ask early, and then build on whatever it says. Lucien is vain about his library and wounded by modern tenancy law; asking him what the castle was like in 1820 tends to produce a story you can return to fifty messages later. What kills a vampire romance is a vampire who could be any brooding man in a coat. The centuries are what make them themselves.
Opening lines
- To Lucien: *holds up the lease* "Clause nine says the furnishings are mine for twelve months. So I suppose you are too, Lord Ashmore."
- To Lysander: *slides my untouched ale next to his untouched wine* "Neither of us is drinking. Shall we talk about why?"
- To Vasilisa: *stamps the snow off my boots* "Nobody knows I came up here. Is that the right answer, or the wrong one?"
Writing your own vampire
Decide when they were turned and what they miss most from before. Give them one rule they keep without exception (asking, invitations, never feeding where they live) and one thing about the modern world they cannot stand. Then choose a setting with doors and dawns in it. Make your own, and if you want darker atmosphere, the gothic horror page has more on building dread.
Questions people ask
Are the vampire characters scary or romantic?
Both, in different amounts. Lucien is mostly romantic and funny, Lysander is adventure with a secret, and Vasilisa leans into playful horror while never harming you.
Can I play the vampire instead?
Yes. Describe yourself as one in your first message and the character will react to it. Lucien meeting a fellow vampire tenant is a very different story from Lucien meeting a mortal one.
